Selling products on its own platform
You'd think that running the biggest ecommerce platform on the planet would mean you can sell your stuff easier than anybody else.
But that wouldn't exactly be fair on the rest of us, would it?
Amazon sells hundreds of its own products, bound by the same rules as every other seller. There's a special kind of SEO for ecommerce, there are restrictions on what can be said in different industries, and everything has to pass the rigorous Amazon tone of voice test.
Working alongside designers, I was responsible for writing the taglines, USPs, body copy, and CTAs across a range of cosmetics. Super cool project, super cool people, and a fascinating insight into the biggest business in ecommerce.
