Helping bring innovative services to market

'Be Internet Legends' is a really cool campaign from Google, designed to help children navigate a life spent online. It's used throughout schools all across the UK.

As Senior Copywriter, it was my job to blend Google's tone-of-voice with one that was accessible to kids. I arranged and wrote content for materials for both teachers and pupils, helping to produce a powerfully simple message.

GSEC, or Google Safety Engineering Centre, is designed and delivered from the company's European HQ in Dublin, and its Munich offices. It's purpose is to 'build a safer internet.'

Another project which required blending TOVs – Google's easy-talking manner, with a serious and mature approach to sensitive content. Working alongside a designer, I wrote and edited the core messaging toolkit for the project.

Both of these projects were a joy to be part of. Google takes its unique position on the web extremely seriously, so helping them to refine their materials and communications on important issues was a real privilege for me.

Writing something that could be seen by millions? Still a privilege, but also terrifying. In a good way.

I think.
